Minesh has been a GP partner Moatfield Surgery 23 years and is the senior partner.
In his clinical practice, he has led on team development and clinical areas including diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease management, taking a more personalised approach to care in the context of today’s general practice including the integration of wellbeing coaches within the practice. He introduced group consultations to his practice 7 years ago focusing on people with type 2 diabetes, hypertension and respiratory conditions. He has also supported the development of the first community diagnostic pathways in Sussex in collaboration with the Community Diagnostic Service at Queen Victoria Hospital FT and Feedback Medical Ltd.
Minesh was the clinical commissioning group chair (CCG) for Horsham and Mid-Sussex CCG chair from inception to reorganisation. During that time he chaired the strategic review of the future of an Orthopaedic Treatment Centre, stroke services in Sussex and co-chaired Sussex clinical STP clinical strategy group and co-authored clinical strategy for STP and successor ICS.
He has been a member of the National Association of Primary Care (NAPC) for 16 years and chaired the organisation for 3 years (2018-2021). The organisation’s mission is to improve population health by supporting health and care organisations and systems to develop effective population health management approaches at ground level.
He led the development of one of the first NAPC 15 Primary Care Homes (PCH East Grinstead), the precursor to Primary Care Networks. The PCH has been working to improve the population’s health and wellbeing by collaborating with a wide range of community organisations and NHS partners. Minesh was made a fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners for his work on population health locally. As part of the NAPC faculty, he has supported a number of ‘Places’ and Integrated Care Systems to develop and implement their population health improvement approach focusing on integrated neighbourhood care and digital programmes.
